Edgar Parkyns
Edgar Parkyns (1909-1987) was a missionary in Nigeria for 14 years. He subsequently lectured at Elim bible institute and Pinecrest Bible Training Center, both in New York State in the USA. In his later years he travelled widely, preaching and teaching.
In his Church History series Edgar, in his uniquely engaging and insightful way, traces the history of the Church from the days of the apostles through to the 20th century. He examines Church history against the backdrop of world events, and considers how and when Bible prophecy has been fulfilled during the last two thousand years. These recording were originally given as a series of lectures at a Bible College in America.
Please remember that the original recordings of this series are now over 20 years old and although every effort has been made to restore them, they are at times not of the best quality.
May we recommend that the Church History series is listened to in the recorded order as the speaker takes his subject through a very linear course and the messages are best appreciated in the proper context.
After his death in 1987 the tapes were transcribed to form the basis of the book "His Waiting Bride", edited by Robert and Carol Betts and published by Wheatcorn Publications (ISBN:0-9526800-0-9). All proceeds from the sale of the book are donated to the Nepal Leprosy Mission.
